Today marks a significant milestone in my writing journey - the quiet launch of my first two published books, now available on Amazon in both print and Kindle formats, including Kindle Unlimited. This launch, intentionally low-key, reflects the deeply personal nature of these works and sets the stage for more prominent releases in the future.
These initial books emerged from a profound period of grief in my life. As I recently shared on my blog:
"A year ago, overwhelmed by grief, I returned to writing as a lifeline. What began as a way to process my pain unexpectedly evolved into a passionate pursuit of storytelling.
My initial writing projects were deeply personal, characters emerging from the raw emotions of loss. As I reread these early pieces, I felt an overwhelming urge to edit, to polish, to perfect. The writer in me saw flaws and areas for improvement, but my editor gave me advice I'll never forget. She told me to resist that urge, to leave the writing as it was. "This is authentic," she said. "It's raw and real, born from your grief. You won't regret preserving it as is." At first, I struggled with this idea, but over time, I've come to appreciate the unvarnished truth in those early works. These writings eventually became my compilation books, preserving that raw, grief-driven creativity."
These two books represent the beginning of my renewed writing career. They are dark fiction compilation works, preserving the raw, unfiltered emotions and thoughts that poured out during my darkest days. While they may not be polished to perfection, and they came before I started taking writing classes and workshops, they offer an authentic glimpse into the healing power of writing. I openly admit they aren’t MY best work, but my alpha, beta, and ARC readers have given incredibly supportive feedback.
I've chosen a quiet launch for these books out of respect for their origins and the vulnerable state in which they were written. Future releases, including Fault Lines in October, will likely see more fanfare, but for now, I'm content to let these works find their way to readers who might benefit from the honest imperfection and emotional depth.
As I mentioned, the books are now available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats, with Kindle Unlimited subscribers able to read them as part of their subscription. As I move forward with new projects, I look forward to sharing more of my journey with you all.
